THIS PAGE IS ONLY ABOUT ME

(I just thought Nick Offerman was a nice touch)

Lily Miller is a writer, actor, comedian, storyteller, and editor based in Chicago, IL. She is originally from Whiting, IN but tells everyone she grew up in Chicago, because when you tell someone you grew up in Indiana, they tend to assume you grew up on a farm. (She did not, in fact, grow up on a farm.)

Lily is currently a freelance writer and editor. For the last several years, she has been working on and seeking out editorial projects at all stages, from initial developmental editing to copyediting and proofreading. When she's not marking up chapters or querying authors, she's making faces in improv class or working on a new sketch. From time to time, she also provides freelance editorial services for manuscripts and short stories. Previously, she worked for PBLWorks, North Atlantic Books, Weldon Owen, and John Wiley & Sons, among others.

Lily has been studying and performing improv since her teen years, starting with classes at Second City Chicago. Most recently, she studied comedy writing with Howard Johnson at iO Theater, and recently studied and performed improv at the Annoyance Comedy Theater. Prior to her return to Chicago, Lily also studied improv, sketch writing, and characters at The Comedy Lab, Squirrel Comedy Theater, and Upright Citizens Brigade. Lily was also a regular contributor and winner of #ShipwreckSF, an erotic literary fanfiction competition based in San Francisco. Her piece, "Teenage Dream: A Friend Fiction Period Piece," was published in Loose Lips: Fanfiction Parodies of Great (and Terrible) Literature from the Smutty Stage of Shipwreck (Grand Central Publishing, 2016).

She has performed at Funny Sexy Sad (Brooklyn, NY) and Cool Shit/Weird Shit (UCB Hells Kitchen, NY). Her background work includes Search Party, New Amsterdam, Hunters, and Love Life. You may have also seen her legs from her 2016 New Years Resolution, #lilyslegphotos, where she attempted to take and post one photo every day where she had at least one leg in the air.

At the moment, she's polishing her portfolio to prepare for agent submissions. Her current writing projects include a sitcom about the publishing world, and a screenplay loosely based on the life of a family member who ran away from home. Lily previously contributed to Spinning Platters and The Tusk. You can read more of her work on Medium and Tumblr, and with any luck, you'll see some of her sketches performed live soon.
